Johnny Depp guitar collection: Johnny Depp is an actor, but he also enjoys playing the guitar and is a member of the band Hollywood Vampires. Depp also has an impressive guitar collection, as one would imagine…
Actor Johnny Depp is among the most well-known people in the world. Depp is well-known for his acting ability, humanitarian tendencies, and famous performances in films such as Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. He is also a very skilled pianist. Indeed, before going to acting, Depp was a member of the punk band The Kids.
Acting eventually became his career, his life, and his chosen path. Depp has basically been an A-Lister since the early 1990s, commanding big wages and earning Hollywood studios billions in ticket sales. However, music, especially guitar, has ALWAYS been a constant in Depp’s life.
You have to wait 20 seconds.
With his hundreds of millions of dollars in the bank, he’s amassed a massive collection of classic, vintage, and highly rare guitars. And I completely understand. If I had Depp’s money, this is exactly what I’d buy: guitars, more guitars, vintage amps, and exorbitantly priced acoustic guitars. And, of course, wine.
So, what kinds of guitars does Johnny Depp own? As I already stated, he has a sizable collection. But here’s a near-complete list of all the guitars Johnny Depp owns and plays right now.
Johnny Depp guitar collection:
- 1956 Fender Telecaster
- Duesenberg Johnny Depp Artist Series Electric Guitar
- Gibson Les Paul Standard Electric Guitar
- Gibson Custom Joe Perry Boneyard Les Paul Electric Guitar
- Gibson Les Paul Special Double-Cut Electric Guitar
- Ibanez 2459 Destroyer
- Duesenberg Johnny Depp Unique “Wooden Fence” Guitar
- Paoletti Leonardo 500 IL Giglio
- Gibson Flying V Electric Guitar
- Gibson SG Junior
- Duesenberg Alliance Mike Campbell I
- Vintage Gibson L3 Acoustic Guitar
- Gibson Les Paul Junior Double-Cut TV Yellow
- Gretsch G5021WPE Rancher Penguin Acoustic
- Echopark Ghetto Bird
- Gibson Reverse Flying V
- Gibson Explorer Electric Guitar
- Gibson Joe Perry Axcess Les Paul
- Duesenberg Caribou
- Gibson SG Junior 60’s Electric Guitar
As you can see, the collection includes well-known Gibson models, a Les Paul Custom and a Les Paul Standard, as well as a 1956 Fender Stratocaster. But there’s also lots of boutique gear and some truly anomalies, such as the Gibson Reverse Flying V and the Echopark Ghetto Bird.
Depp also has his own unique model with Duesenberg, the Johnny Depp Unique “Wooden Fence” Guitar, which he can be seen playing with Hollywood Vampires all over YouTube. And, given Depp’s friendship with Aerosmith’s Joe Perry, the inclusion of a few of Perry’s trademark Gibson Les Paul guitars makes sense.
The majority of Depp’s guitars are older models, as one would anticipate. Additionally, he owns a vintage Ibanez 2459 Destroyer, a 1956 Fender Stratocaster, and a large collection of antique Les Pauls, including an SG Junior, a Les Paul Junior, and a Les Paul Double Cut.
There are probably close to a million dollars’ worth of guitars on that list in all, and these are only the ones I am aware of him owning and using. Without a doubt, he has many more artefacts in his collection than I ever could have seen.
Depp is a fan of Mahalo amplifiers when it comes to guitar amps. On Mahalo’s official website, he is listed as using a Mahalo amplifier, although with Depp’s money and large guitar collection, I’d suppose he has hundreds of amps and cabinets in rotation. Wouldn’t you if money were no object?
I’d dedicate a whole wing of my home to antique tube amps and legendary cabinets.
