Upcoming Hollywood Movies-

To say the least, the last couple of years have been unusual, and because of this, Upcoming Hollywood Movies has had to make some changes. Warner Bros. decided to stream all of their core 2021 releases simultaneously on HBO Max, and the results were positive, while other studios included a mix of theatrical and virtual distribution methods. That probably won’t change by 2023, but that doesn’t mean we won’t have some fantastic films to look forward to.

Creed III –

Directed by: Michael B. Jordan
Opening on: March 3, 2023

With Creed 0.33, the third installment of the Rocky spin-off series, Michael B. Jordan makes his characteristic directorial debut. In this film, he plays Apollo Creed, Rocky’s former foe who has now become a friend. Jonathan Majors appears to be Adonis’s opponent inside the ring, and Tessa Thompson and Phylicia Rashad are expected to reprise their roles as Adonis’s mother and female friend, respectively. We are still unsure how the events in this chapter will turn out, though.

Scream 6

Directed by: Matt Bettinelli- Olpin Tyler Gillett
Opening on: March 10, 2023

Shortly after Scream debuted in 2023, it was revealed that there might be a sequel that would focus on the characters who survived it. It was announced shortly after that—just one day, to be exact—that Hayden Panettiere might be returning to the series to reprise her role as Kirby Reed from Scream 4. Neve Campbell, the franchise’s super mega star, decided not to return after being paid less than she thought she was really well worth for the movie, so unfortunately this might also be the first installment without her. Of course, we have no idea how the narrative will end.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods

Directed by: David F. Sandberg
Opening on: March 17, 2023

Along with his teenage alter ego Billy Batson (Asher Angel) and all of his stepsiblings, who have accepted their superpowers, Shazam (played by Zachary Levi) is back.

John Wick: Chapter 4

Directed by: Chad Stahelski
Opening on: March 24, 2023

The popular film franchise starring Chad Stahelski and Keanu Reeves finally hits theatres in 2023 after being delayed by two months due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We don’t know a lot about the movie, but we do know that John Wick is at odds with the High Table and is likely being treated as dead by them, and that Stahelski has previously stated that there’s a chance that Chapter 4 won’t be a “glad ending” for a key character.

Dungeons And Dragons: Honor Among Thieves

Directed by: John Francis Daley, Jonathan Goldstein
Opening on: March 31, 2023

With the help of producers John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein (Game Night, 2015’s Vacation) and an all-super mega celebrity cast that includes Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Hugh Grant, Bridgerton breakout super mega celebrity Regé-Jean Page, among others, the well-known role-gambling sport gets a glitzy reboot.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie

Directed by: Aaron Horvath, Michael Jelenic
Opening on: April 7, 2023

Producing this large-screen rendition of the iconic Nintendo character and his friends are Chris Meledandri of Illumination (Despicable Me) and Shigeru Miyamoto, the man who created Mario. The well-known plumber, voiced by Chris Pratt, enters the Mushroom Kingdom where he encounters Keegan-Michael Key’s Toad.

Evil Dead Rise

Directed by: Lee Cronin
Opening on: April 21, 2023

The fifth installment in the Evil Dead franchise, which was originally intended to debut on HBO Max in the Fall of 2023, will now hit theatres in the Spring of 2023. It’s still unclear whether this movie will connect to the originals or the 2013 remake, or if it will stand alone entirely. Regardless, it will focus on a pair of sisters whose reunion is thwarted by the discovery of a mysterious e-book that summons demons.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

Directed by: James Gunn
Opening in: May 5, 2023

The latest Guardians, written and directed by James Gunn, is guaranteed to feature a dominant Chris Pratt, a top-notch ensemble cast (see what we did there? ), and plenty of comedic antics. It follows Gunn’s giddily irreverent 2021 effort The Suicide Squad. Additionally, we are aware that Adam Warlock, who was hinted at at the end of Vol. 2, will soon be played by Will Poulter.

Fast X

Directed by: Justin Lin
Opening on: May 19, 2023

This is only the first part of the tenth installment of the fastest-paced and most agitated franchise currently available. (Part two, which is expected to be the series’ last, will be released in 2024.) And even though the plot is currently under wraps, we know that Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, and the rest of the family are free to carry on as usual.

The Little Mermaid

Directed by: Rob Marshall
Opening on: May 26, 2023

This live-action adaptation of Disney’s fish-out-of-water classic features some inspired casting, including Melissa McCarthy as Ursula, Awkwafina as Scuttle, and Javier Bardem as King Triton. Additionally, new songs were co-written with Lin-Manuel Miranda, and pop star Halle Bailey will don some fins to play Ariel.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

Directed by: Joaquim Dos Santos
Opening on: June 2, 2023

The critically acclaimed and popular animated Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse won an Oscar, and until it was postponed to 2023, Across the Spider-Verse was one of the most anticipated movies of that year. We also know that Issa Rae will soon voice Jessica Drew (also known as Spider-Woman), and it’s highly likely that Jake Johnson’s Peter Parker will make a comeback.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts

Directed by: Steven Caple Jr.
Opening on: June 9, 2023

After Bumblebee, which is set in the 1980s, the Transformers franchise moves even further back in time. In this installment, a couple of archaeologists accidentally get caught up in a three-way battle between distinct Transformer factions. With Peter Cullen reprising his role as the voice of Optimus Prime and actors like Ron Perlman, Anthony Ramos, and Dominique Fishback joining the cast, the film is loosely based on the Beast Wars storyline and will be directed by Steven Caple Jr. (Creed II).

The Flash

Directed by: Andy Muschietti
Opening on: June 23, 2023

If you hadn’t heard, multi-verses will be huge in 2023, and DC is attempting to capitalise on the trend with this movie. Like many of the films on this list, we don’t yet know much about the plot, but Michael Keaton’s casting as Bruce Wayne is either a great meta-trick or a big hint as to what we’ll see. There are rumours that the story will follow the “Flashpoint” comic book storyline, in which case expect some crossover antics.

Indiana Jones 5

Directed by: James Mangold
Opening on: June 30, 2023

For the first time ever, a director other than Steven Spielberg is in charge of an Indiana Jones movie. This eagerly anticipated sequel to 2008’s Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, directed by James Mangold (Walk the Line), features performances from Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Mads Mikkelsen, Shaunette Renée Wilson, Antonio Banderas, and, of course, Harrison Ford.

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning, Part One

Directed by: Christopher McQuarrie
Opening on: July 14, 2023

Originally set aside for Mission: Impossible 8, this spot is now being filled by M:I 7 in 2023 and M:I 8 in 2024 due to COVID. In any case, Tom Cruise could have played Ethan Hunt for a whopping 27 years before this movie even hits theatres. When did that happen? With Esai Morales playing the main antagonist, this installment welcomes back well-known franchise actors like Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Rebecca Ferguson, Henry Czerny, and Vanessa Kirby.

Oppenheimer

Directed by: Christopher Nolan

The IMAX-shot portion, like honestly all of Nolan’s movies, should be viewed on the biggest screen possible.

Roosevelt

Directed by: Martin Scorsese
Starring: Leonardo DiCaprio
Opening on: July 14, 2023

Martin Scorsese gives the legacy of the US’s thirty-second president a makeover, and Leonardo DiCaprio, of all people, is cast as the leader who managed the Great Depression and World War II. Take this release date with a grain of salt because this was first announced way back in 2017 and we haven’t heard much about it since then.
