Only one piece of information was known about Rihanna’s Super Bowl LVII halftime performance, but the singer did give us that information. Even though there hasn’t been an announcement, performers frequently bring out special guests for the halftime show, so there might still be a surprise.
Nate Burleson of CBS Sports questioned Rihanna about the halftime show and, assuming she would not reveal too much, inquired as to whether there were any other surprises in store.
She smiled and said, “I’m not sure, but I’m considering bringing someone. We shall see.”
It wouldn’t be a surprise, Rihanna continued, if she revealed too much about the upcoming show, so she played her cards close to her chest. Then, we discovered:
While expecting, Rihanna performed at the Super Bowl 57 halftime show. Even though she admittedly spent the majority of her energy on performing the set, she performed 12 songs, was hoisted onto platforms above the field, and even showed us a few dance moves. 2023 Super Bowl: Patrick Mahomes of the Chiefs plays again against the Eagles after reinjuring his ankle:
Leading up to Super Bowl LVII, quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ ankle was one of the major news stories. While he only missed one drive in the divisional-round victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars due to the right ankle injury, the star quarterback was obviously not at full strength.
In the AFC Championship victory over the Cincinnati Bengals, Mahomes played despite a high ankle sprain, but many questioned whether he would still be as productive. Even Chiefs owner Clark Hunt admitted that his quarterback probably wasn’t fully healthy going into this weekend.
When taken down on a scramble in the second quarter of Kansas City’s Super Bowl game against the Philadelphia Eagles, Mahomes appeared to re-injure that same ankle:
Mahomes stood up and hobbled off the field before receiving medical attention from trainers. At the half, the quarterback took a slow jog into the tunnel, leaving everyone to wonder if he’d be back for the third.
He did return, and he did it dramatically as well. Isiah Pacheco scored on a 10-play, 75-yard drive that was directed by Mahomes. To get Kansas City to the Philadelphia 4-yard line, Mahomes even ran for a 14-yard gain! The quarterback seems to be in good shape, but his condition will need to be monitored going forward.
