Senkaku (Diaoyu) islands:

Taiwan:
The People’s Liberation Army of Mao Zedong, which adopted the name People’s Republic of China (PRC), swiftly overthrew the Chinese government on the mainland.
Chiang Kai-shek’s nationalist regime established the Republic of China (ROC) while living in exile on the island.
The ROC still sees itself as the genuine government of China, both on the island and the mainland, despite the PRC’s claim of sovereignty over Taiwan.
Jammu and Kashmir:
The territory of Jammu and Kashmir, which is split between India, Pakistan, and China, has been up for debate ever since the British gave up control of the area in 1947.
