The selection of the six finalists for the international female group launch project “A2K” (or “America2Korea”) on September 21 EST included Camila (18), from Montreal, Lexi (17), from Milwaukee, Savanna (17), from Fort Lauderdale, Kendall (17), from Fort Worth, KG (16), from Los Angeles, and Kaylee (13), from Philadelphia.
These six contestants have been working out covertly inside the JYP Entertainment offices in Seoul, South Korea, ever since the girl group survival project ended.
The girls are a combined female group formed by JYP Entertainment and Republic Records, and their moniker is VCHA (pronounced vit-chaa), which is Korean for “point a light towards something”.
In order to officially announce their creation, VCHA chose to time the release of their pre-debut song, “SeVit (NEW LIGHT),” with the conclusion of “A2K.”
The title track of the single, “Y.O.Universe,” is an upbeat pop song created by J.Y.
Park and Cirkut that captures the adventures of the “A2K” participants and imparts a message of self-love and self-assurance.
The two final round tracks from “A2K,” “Go Getter” and “Know Me Like That,” are also included on the single.
