Justin, meanwhile, was definitely unhappy about the pregnancy, as she points out. He asserted that we weren’t prepared to conceive a family because we were still rather young.
Spears talks about her contradictory emotions at the time in the excerpt.
If it had been up to me alone, I would never have done it. However, Justin was adamant that he didn’t want to have children.
